The White Rose in Windermere offers great value accommodation at the heart of the beautiful English Lake District.

All our attractive bedrooms are en-suite with a TV, a DVD player, a hospitality tray, a hairdryer and an alarm clock radio.

As you may know, the Lake District is the most beautiful area of Britain - and the British public voted Wastwater in the Lake District - Britain's Favourite View!!

 Situated in the North West of England, Windermere is easy to reach from all areas of the UK.

Bed and breakfast rates are between £29.00 and £31.00 per person per night when 2 share a standard en-suite double bedroom and between £34.00 and £38.00 per person per night in the larger bedrooms.

Single occupancy of a standard en-suite double is between forty five and fifty five pounds per person per night depending on the time of the stay.

If you are flying into the UK via Manchester Airport, there is a direct rail link from the airport to Oxenholme (the Lake District).

Liverpool Airport is only an hour's drive from Windermere and Cumbria, the Lake District.

From London or Glasgow, Virgin trains have a great service to the Lake District - with trains stopping at Oxenholme Station (close to Kendal) where guests need to change onto a branch line train straight to Windermere.

 Spend a few days in the Lakes and discover some of the glorious places that have fascinated so many artists, poets and authors.

Beatrix Potter's home - Hilltop is not far from Windermere and is where she wrote many of her famous stories.

According to the house deeds, The White Rose was built in 1817  (during the reign of King George III)  as a family home.

Now, nearly two hundred years later, the house has 6 well-equipped, very attractive en-suite bedrooms. 

If you choose to stay at the White Rose - the delicious breakfasts, the comfortable bedrooms,  the hospitality and, of course, the beautiful countryside should make your trip to the Lakes truly memorable!

 Most weekends are a two night minimum stay - and all Bank Holiday weekends are a three night minimum stay.

The Lake District is the perfect holiday destination at any time of year whether you are coming to walk, sail, climb or just njoy the many tourist attractions in the area.

If you are looking for a short break in the Lakes, enquire about our popular three and four night bed and breakfast breaks - we have both weekday and weekend breaks.

Prices do depend on the length of your stay, whether you wish to stay during the week or over a weekend, and the type of room required - standard or superior.

At the White Rose, there are six very pretty en-suite bedrooms which all have en-suite facilities with a shower, toilet, basin and toiletries, fitted furniture, a colour TV with DVD, a hairdryer, an alarm clock radio and a hospitality tray:

Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 are first floor standard en-suite bedrooms and Bedroom 5 is a standard en-suite double bedroom on the second floor of the house.

All these bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, en-suite shower, toilet and basin, colour TV with DVD, hairdryer, alarm clock radio and hospitality tray. 

Bedroom 6 is a ground floor en-suite double bedroom that is situated at the rear of the house. The bedroom opens straight out onto a small courtyard and is reached from a side entrance. It is completely separate from the other bedrooms in the main house. Guests using this room will have to walk outside and round the corner onto Broad Street - and to the front entrance of the house for breakfast.  

Bedroom 3 is a first floor superior double bedroom.

This spacious double bedroom has an excellent range of fitted bedroom furniture, an en-suite shower room, a comfortable sofa, a widescreen TV and DVD player, hairdryer, alarm clock radio and tea and coffee making facilities.

Bedroom 4 is on the second floor of the house and is a comfortable and spacious en-suite bedroom. This bedroom has a new zip and link divan bed which means the bedroom can be used as a double bedroom or a twin bedroom - since the king size bed can be separated into two single beds. This light and airy bedroom has fitted bedroom furniture, a flat screen colour TV and DVD, a hairdryer, an alarm clock radio and a hospitality tray.

 This bedroom can also be used in conjunction with Bedroom 5 to form a family or friends suite of two bedrooms that will sleep up to four guests.

Please note that we can only accommodate children over the age of 12.  

There are also great views towards the fells and mountains from Bedroom 4.
